Official Opening of the Den at Martin House

The new ‘Den’ at Martin House is now complete and being enjoyed by teenagers and young adults as a high tech ‘chill out’ area.

The new space, part of Whitby Lodge, the teenage unit at Martin House, replaces a smaller extension which was no longer suitable.  We have worked closely with staff and children at the hospice to design a multi-function space, allowing the young people to use the state-of-the-art audio-visual systems as independently as possible.   Teenagers can watch movies, listen to music or simply hang out in their own space.   The ‘Den’ is at times a cinema, nightclub, gaming hub and sitting room.   The large projection screen, surround sound system, lighting effects, illuminated dancefloor and motorised black out blinds provide an experience for the teenagers rarely seen outside custom cinemas and luxurious houses.
