A North Yorkshire Restoration

Earlier this year, Wildblood Macdonald Architects won planning permission for alterations to this large country house near Leyburn in North Yorkshire. This stunning Victorian property is set within formal gardens and enjoys spectacular views across Wensleydale.

We have now reached a very exciting point in the development of the property and with the main contracts expected to be awarded imminently, the substantial refurbishment works are soon to commence on site. 

The existing grand staircase will be extended down to the newly converted lower floor of general family areas, including a garden room, gym, and family sitting room.

The upper floors of the house will see principle rooms restored to some of their former grandeur and elegance, while other areas are to be sympathetically adapted to transform the property into a modern family home.

Landscaping works will improve the setting of the house and provide external spaces from which to enjoy the fabulous views across the valley.

We hope to publish images of the finished project next summer.
